Litera Meat Invests in 100% Renewable Energy
To encourage the responsible and sustainable management of energy has been one of the key points in terms of environmental politics for Litera Meat, who from the start of operations in July 2019 has progressively increased the consumption of green energy. This commitment is clearly evidenced by the business track record of the company, who has been investing in new projects to optimise energy efficiency and maximise the supply of electricity from renewable sources.
As the Guarantee of Origin report published by the National Commission on Financial Markets and Competition (CNMC, in Spanish) shows, in 2019, Litera Meat obtained 16.1% of its energy from renewable sources through Endesa S.A.U, a figure that will probably be reinforced in May 2020 with the award of a contract to Acciona Green Energy, a company that commercialises electricity which is 100% renewable and that has also been A rated. This guarantees that the generation of electricity does not produce any CO2 emissions or radioactive residues. Manfred Bos, CEO of Litera Meat, stated that “renewable energies are not the future, but the present. We are a modern and large-scale enterprise who have been committed to following a sustainable strategy as regards environmental responsibility from the beginning”.
This agreement has allowed us to reinforce our commitment to sustainability, since we believe sustainable development is an asset which in the long term creates added value and progress and strengthens the principle of corporate social responsibility.
